Nearly 800 furloughed Orlando International Airport restaurant workers face being laid off for good

Hundreds of Orlando International Airport’s restaurant workers have been furloughed from their jobs since late March because of the coronavirus pandemic, all of them waiting for the day they’d get a call to come back to work. Then, last week, they got a letter that’s all but quashed that hope. It informed them that 782 people, more than 90% of the workers employed at the Orlando airport by HMSHost, could be laid off permanently by mid-October.
