Top DHS officials Wolf and Cuccinelli are not legally eligible to serve in their current roles, GAO finds

The U.S. Government Accountability Office found that Department of Homeland Security acting secretary Chad Wolf and Ken Cuccinelli, effectively the agency’s second-in-command, are serving under an “invalid order of succession.” The GAO said it was referring the matter to DHS’s inspector general for further review.
