Disney turns fountains’ coins into Thanksgiving treasure for homeless coalition

The region’s theme parks have suffered more than their share of losses during the coronavirus pandemic, but tourists still managed to toss $20,000 worth of coins in Walt Disney World fountains this year. In turn, the park is donating the bounty to the Coalition for the Homeless in Orlando, which is struggling to keep pace with the need for shelter. In addition, Disney’s chefs are preparing a Thanksgiving feast for some 650 homeless men, women and children.
